Strawberry Soup

I've been thinking about trying a chilled fruit-based soup for some time now. Strawberries are in season and I had 2 pounds of them, so tonight I decided to make a strawberry soup.

This recipe was very simple. It appealed to me because it was different than every other recipe you'll find - it's savory instead of sweet. I figured it would be something interesting to try.

And interesting it was. The final product wasn't exactly what I was expecting. There was definitely a solid berry flavor, but the only other noticable flavor that I could discern was garlic. I wanted to be able to taste some of the lime, but it was overpowered. Because of that I wasn't too crazy about this soup. I think a savory strawbery soup *could* work, but it would have been better without garlic. At least it was a learning experience (and I still have over a pound of strawberries left)!

Have you ever gone u-picking strawberries? I used to go do that every summer with my parents. It wasn't easy, but man getting full on strawberries is fuckin' fun.

I found it very useful.
