Knitting Fool
Well, I'm just now finishing up all of my Thanksgiving leftovers. And you know what else I'm finishing? My shawl!
I got the materials for it for Christmas last year, then actually started it mid February. I didn't knit a stitch this summer, but now that it's cold outside, I figured it was time to start up again. After a bit of a false start and subsequent pulling out of four rows, I got really into the swing of this. And after no time, it was done!
Here's a picture that gives a better idea of the textures of the patterns as well as the tweediness of the yarn.

And here's what happens when you try to move your cat off of the shawl to try to get a picture. He turns into the devil and attacks your arm.

We took a timeout after that. After we'd both calmed down (and I had put the shawl away) it was as if nothing had happened and we loved each other again. :)
This was definitely the most complicated thing I've knitted to date, and now I'm excited to keep it up! In fact, I just picked out a pattern and some yarn for a project that will be a friend's Christmas present. Hopefully my enthusiasm continues and I can actually finish it in time for the holidays!
Speaking of the holidays, I've also decided on some treats that I'm going to make to give as gifts. I'm *really* excited about them, but I don't want to give away the secret to any of the recipients. So I'm keeping mum for as long as possible...
